Up Until Now...

Hi all
So I've been gone for a few weeks, and I won't go into too many details. All I will say is it's revision/essay/dissertation season and I've been buried under work that I'm meant to be doing.
But at last Spring has come and to honour this I went shopping. This was a couple of weeks ago and you have already seen some of these items in my last OOTD but I thought to show it all together anyway.
Beauty products wise, I've been trying to experiment more with lip colour etc so I bought another Rimmel Kate Moss lipstick and a few other bits and bobs to keep things interesting. I have to say I'm loving all these new purchases especially my sneaker wedges, I literally wear them everywhere.
Anywhow expect more from me this month, I have a spring look book coming up with a few outfits I'm going to be wearing this season and other stuff too.

The Sharpest Lives are the Deadliest to Lead!

I bought sneaker wedges finally! I was never really impressed by this type of shoe when the first came out, I thought the deciders of trends where overreaching a bit by taking the sporty route. But then a couple of weeks ago that I saw them on Trendy Teal that I knew I had to have them. I spent hours scouring the internet but didn't find ones I was happy with until a spur of the moment trip into town on Thursday brought these babies into my life. The sneaker element in these is more covert which I like because the overall effect is more subtle, so thank you H&M.
This is the first look I styled for them and it's as casual as can be, because I had to navigate train platforms with heavy bags and such for my journey home yesterday.
And now that I am home I woke up to devastating (for me) news, that my all time favourite band My Chemical Romance from my school days has broken up and I'm just broken up (get it?) about it. I've been listening to some of their music all morning hence the title, which is inspired by one of my favourite songs.

On another note is it just my area or has anyone else seen snow when it's now officially spring? What the hell England!

Lots of Love

Got It Nailed!

I was bored the other day and I realised it's been too long since I did anything with my nails so I went to my nail polish box and pulled out this bright blue colour and got to work. I was inspired (very) loosely by the anime series Avatar: The Last Airbender hence the Chinese symbols I drew on. I've been obsessed with the show these past few weeks, I think it's the perfect excuse to procrastinate and delay writing my many essays that are due soon. Plus I did it with the hope that if I pained my nails bright enough spring would appear sooner, and it may have worked because the sun was shining today.
Also I'm sure you already know but GFC is closing on 1 July so if want to keep up on my writings click on the bloglovin' link on the right and I'll love you forever :)

One, Two, Monochrome!

This week can only be described as the most hectic week of my 3rd year life. I've been rushing around trying to find participants for my dissertation experiment and it's been hell, anyway with all this in mind I have been dressing more-so to be comfortable than anything else. This isn't too different to how I normally dress but I didn't want to add unnecessary flare especially when I was to be lugging my 3kg laptop around the uni. And what is easier than monochrome, everything about it is understated and simple but still cutting edge and dare I say I think I pulled it off well.
All that aside, it'll be Easter soon and I can't wait to head off home and have my family around me again. I'm looking forward to my big comfy bed and my mom's cooking the most but I still have a week left before I'm back at the nest.
Have you got any plans for the Easter holidays?

Flower Power

Dress: ASOS, Jumper: H&M, Bag: eBay, Shoes: New Look
Well here's to hoping for more sunny days. After a never-ending onslaught of cloudy days, the sun finally came out and I took full advantage. I pulled a summery dress out of my wardrobe and hoped off to lectures all the while hoping that it wouldn't rain. I toned it down with the jumper because whilst it was sunny its completely spring yet.
Anyhow most of my days have been filled with stressing out about my dissertation and watching TV and yesterday I finally got a chance to see The Dark Knight Rises. My housemate lent it to me and I can see why everyone was raving about it, it was so amazing. If you haven't seen it yet I recommend you do, it will be a very enjoyable 3 hours of your life.
Am I the only one dying for spring to rear its its little head, I feel like it's cold forever...

Dressy Casual

Blazer: Forever 21, Blue Tee: Primark, Necklace: Forever 21,  Jeans: Topshop, Heels: New Look
Hiya guys, I have been away for a while doing educational things but I thought to come and show you this outfit I'm wearing on my trip to London for my housemates birthday.
We're spending the whole weekend in London doing sight seeing, shopping and hopefully making a visit to TGI Fridays. I'm geared for it being a bit expensive but I think it should be worth it considering how I pretty much never venture that far south during term time. I wanted to keep this outfit fairly simple but give it a little flair to make it interesting and I think the blazer made it work.
What are you plans for the weekend?

Liebster Blogger Award

I got nominated for the Liebster Award by Maggie Pegg the other week and I'm finally getting round to making a post about it. Massive thanks for the nomination of my humble little blog :)
So the basics; the award is basically meant to promote new bloggers with less than 200 followers and you are to follow the rules of those who have nominated you.

I think I have it easy by only having one question to answer, which is:

How/What made you start blogging and how has it been so far?
I think, I have always had an interest in writing things down, even when I was younger before I discovered the internet I would always make drawings and write in a journal of sorts. I have had many blogs before this one on different topics, but at some point my interest in fashion took priority and I have been trying to document my interest since.
It's a little nerve wrecking to put up just my regular pictures when so many blogs are so established and professional looking and all I have is my point & shoot camera. But hey ho it is what it is and I have enjoyed it so far. It's always a challenge when I decide what to wear. Setting up my camera and timer to take the pictures was always awkward and still is but to a lesser degree because I'm starting to feel more comfortable and confident enough in my abilities to be able to enjoy myself, and I can;t wait to see what the future brings :)

Now my questions:
If you had to pick one who is your favourite youtuber?
One wardrobe essential you cannot live without?
Skirts or Trousers?
And lastly what is your experience of blogging so far?

I tag:

The Rules
1) Answer the questions I've set
2) Nominate other bloggers of your choice with less than 200 followers
3) Link back to this post if you answer the questions and comment on this post as well

I look forward to reading your posts guys :)

Nautical Season

Blazer: H&M, Ruffle Shirt: Primark, Skater Skirt: River Island, Boots: New Look
 Hello there,
Just thought to show what I wore to the first day of lectures the other day. I looked outside before I dresses and it looked deceivingly springy so I wore my new little skirt from the Christmas sales. It's my new favourite thing, I love the subtlety of the animal print; not the overly garish multicoloured kind, though I love that one too. I paired it with this little vest top with a dressy ruffle on the front for a smarter look. In a certain light it sort of looks one of those shirts you wear nerds always pair with a suit for prom, despite this I think its charming.

My decision for the springy look did backfire a tad because on the way back we got rained on, and I wished I'd gone for my safe option: jeans and boots. Anyway I think it worked out well and it got me excited for actual spring. In anticipation for this I have also joined the gym like the little exercise buff I am. Matter of fact it's where I'm off to after I click publish.

Any plans today?

For The Love of Burgundy

Everything I Am Wearing Is from New Look, what a coincidence!
To say I have been a little absent lately is an understatement, did anyone miss me? No, ok.
Well I thought to show you an outfit I wore out the other evening to celebrate the end of exams. My friends and I went clubbing and I danced my little heart heart, it was so much fun.
I have only just recently embraced the oxblood trend, and I must say I can't get enough. Without trying to sounding conceited,I really believe this colour suits me. I think it boils down to me suiting more muted shaes as opposed to primary colours.
I'm not really normally one for shorts but I'm trying to branch out a bit more with my wardrobe, especially with spring around the corner (I say as we are knee deep in snow *optimism or what*)

What new things are you trying this spring?

Always Late to the Party...

I bought this skirt in the boxing day sales for cheaps and I just love the print on it even though it might not be season appropriate. I think it just brightens up anything you wear especially around winter when it's dreary and miserable outside. The shoes I got from my friend recently as a birthday present and I can't get enough of the animal print detail at the bottom.
This coming year I want to take my style to the next level because I know in 2012 I spent the better majority of my time in jeans and t-shirts. And while there is nothing wrong with this I do think its time to step up my game so brace yourself for my future attempts of being creative my my wardrobe.
Finally, for the coming year I made myself broad resolutions that may or may not affect the blog depending on my success.
I plan to:
Be more adventurous by saying yes to more things. I realise that I'm only 21 but lately i feel like I have the mindset of a sixty year old where my idea of a good time is a night in with a cup of tea and a good book. I just want to take advantage of my final year of university to enjoy life because I know once I finish I'll be expected to actually act like a grown-up.
Get fitter which of course is one of the most typical resolutions which everyone forgets about after a week but I am serious in my vow to take better care of my body by eating better and moving more.
Get work experience so my CV can kick ass. I'm doing a psychology degree and I need something that'll make me stand out when I do approach the working world - I'm starting to sound like a grown-up already :(
Pass my degree, which is a no-brainer really. I need to get a 2:1 if I a actually want to use my degree, anything less is just not an option so I will be burying my nose in my books from now until June whilst hoping and praying for success.

Anyhow, this has been long enough and though I am 5 days late Happy New Years everyone.
What are your plans for the coming year?
